Internal environmental communication

We want our work on the sustainability part of the strategy to start from within and grow outward. The first steps have therefore been to create a common understanding of what sustainability and the green transition entail. Commercial Director Peter Axelsen and Product Compliance Manager Chinette Bonde Ebbesen have given presentations to all our offices, both nationally and internationally, on internal environmental communication, thereby creating unity and understanding about sustainability across the company’s departments.

Among other things, the presentations brought focus to the concept of sustainability, which has a very broad definition. It was made clear that we will not use such general statements when marketing our products. We should instead talk about the concrete positive characteristics of the individual product. In addition, pitfalls such as greenwashing and green blushing were described.

It turned out that employees had very different understandings of the concept of sustainability, and this gave rise to discussion, brainstorming and gathering of ideas that in the long term can ensure a more sustainable transition for F&H Group.

Before we can move towards more sustainable sales, purchasing and production, we need to know more about our CO2 emissions. We make our living from our customers’ consumption and it will never be sustainable. Our goal is not to become sustainable, but to make changes where we can and where it makes sense, so that our products can leave a less negative impact on the Earth.
